The SC full form is Scheduled Caste. Beyond the typical “varna system,” the Hindu caste system is broken into various levels based on the origin and history of our forefathers. In contrast to the usual varna structure, there are Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. Due to their protracted history of fighting for equal rights in Indian society, these castes and tribes are generally referred to as the “backward classes.” They have been and still are socially and economically disadvantaged in various areas of the nation.
However, individuals from other classes are increasingly letting go of these preconceptions and learning to restore their social standing. The government’s reservation policy ensures that a specific proportion of members of these underprivileged groups receive admission to and employment in government sectors.
Who is under the Scheduled Tribes?
A group within Indian society known as the Scheduled Castes has endured tyranny and discrimination in the past and on several occasions even today. The Constitution Order, 1950 states that only Hindu communities that are marginalized can be classified as Scheduled Castes. People from the Scheduled Castes are still thought of as untouchables today and are sometimes referred to as “Dalits.” The Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras are the four primary varnas according to the Hindu varna system.
The term “savanna” refers to persons who fall under one of the four varnas. The SC, on the other hand, are frequently seen as “avarnas,” or those who do not fit into any of these four varnas.
