An Overview of SHO:
The SHO full form is Station House Officer, SHO is in charge of the localized police station. He is in charge of preserving peace and order in his area and oversees the operations of the police station. He is placed beneath the DSP but above the Sub Inspector (SI) (Deputy Police Superintendent). Three stars on his shoulder strap and a blue and red striped ribbon serve as his division’s symbol. He is supported by a team of SI, Head Constables, and Constables.

Education qualification criteria of SHO:
Here the minimum Education qualification to become an SHO is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. An applicant must have graduated from any accredited college or university in any discipline with a minimum GPA of 50%. Those who graduate from the 12th grade will not be eligible for the SI positions in the Police Department.

If the Unit has space for an official of that Rank, a Police Inspector is placed at other Units of the Police Force and retains his or her previous rank.
